Classroom Tech Resources

Our classroom is tech savvy, and it won't take long until you are, too! Here are some of the websites we'll be using in class to communicate, collaborate, and continue to work as a team to make this a great year!

1) PowerSchool is a district website and android/ios app for students and parents to keep track of the "housekeeping" of our classroom (and all classes) by providing real time information on students' activities in the following:
  • Current grades & grade history per subject with detailed grades for each assignment.
  • Attendance history.
  • Students' class schedules.
  • Email notifications from teachers and the school.
  • Teacher comments and notices.
  • Current semester GPA, current overall semester GPA, and projected end of semester GPA.
  • School information and bulletins.
PowerSchool settings allows students to receive immediate notifications of grading on assignments as well as when grades drop or improve.

You'll be using it a lot this year so check it out here ---> https://powerschool.ramonausd.net/public/

2) Blackboard is our classroom's digital learning community and it rocks! Rather than pen-and-paper homework we will be using this site (both online and through their app) to:
  • Take pre-quizzes to let me know where your student is in the mastery of certain learning objectives with immediate feedback that allows me to quickly change lessons or activities depending on student needs in certain areas.
  • Take post-quizzes on learning materials so that I know where areas of greater need to be addressed.
  • Complete assignments both at home and/or in class so that we have more time to work on group projects and individual learning needs.
  • Access up-to-the-minute class assignments and due dates, grades (also in PowerSchool), and class resources.
  • Create collaborative digital learning communities and groups that allow students to work together at anytime, anywhere.
  • And much more!

3) Glogster is just one amazing online tool we will use to explore various mixed media presentations and projects. This cool website allows students to individually or collaboratively create interactive multimedia posters that allow students to:
  •  “Express ideas with ease by combining images, graphics, audio, video and text on one digital canvas."
  •  Work on literature, book reports, reading comprehension, ELL, journalism, writer’s biographies, grammar, oral communication, writing, and more!

As our students continue to learn and grow I will add websites to this page, so check back often!
